Inspirationen til Inumbra dateredes tilbage til Vietnamimperiets historiske æra i midten af det 20. århundrede, hvor tilbehør, nemlig paraply- og hatdesign, spillede en vigtig rolle i traditionelle kongelige ceremonier. Betyder “In the shadow” på latin, er Inumbras formsprog resultatet af Michele De Lucchi og D8s nutidige bud på samspil mellem materialer og former.

Wall-mounted shelving system
Vægmonteret reolsystem designet af Michele De Lucchi som kaldes Inumba Collection. Den er designet med et mangfoldigt udvalg i tankerne, hvis strukturelle elementer er lige så let at samle som problemfrit justerbare til forskellige behov og smag. Inumbra Standard Large hviler på gulvet, men er fastgjort til væggen. Sikkert forankret takket være et strukturelt, men simpelt gitter af stolper, har hylderne nul synlige skruer, når de først er samlet. Eventuelle iboende samlinger er skjult med metalhætter, hvilket giver systemet et sømløst og sammenhængende udseende. Kommer i to størrelser, Medium og Large, og med yderligere forlængelsesenheder til at rumme forskellige interiør indstillinger for at opfylde specifikke behov. Den mindste sammensætning af kollektionen, Inumbra Single Post parret med Inumbra kabinetter, skiller sig ud som en solitær statur i modsætning til dens beskedne størrelse.

The name refers to one of the city's 24 districts, in the heart of which District Eight established their first factory and office.
