"The Blue Frames Kilim is a classic, hand-woven kilim and has its origins in Afghanistan. Its simple, yet expressive design makes it a contemporary and timeless design piece. The frame-like design of the Blue Frames Kilim gives it depth and creates a unique sense of space. The center of the design is a beige rectangle, which is surrounded by two blue and one beige frames.

Our kilims are made by hand in a traditional and 100% natural way. Starting with the procurement of the raw material, in this case hand-spun wool, through the coloring of the yarn, to the final weaving process.

A special feature of the kilim is above all its double face (double weave). When weaving a kilim, we speak of the so-called warp and weft threads, whereby the weft thread ensures that the design of the carpet is visible on both sides. The history of the kilim can be traced back many centuries and makes antique finds in particular attractive collector's items. The weaving tradition of the kilim can be traced back to old nomadic tribes who used the woven fabric as a blanket, wall hanging or even as a floor covering. In the past, the motifs usually came from the immediate surroundings of the tribes and so animals, plants or images inspired by nature were often depicted. In addition, emotions were also often communicated via the kilim motifs.

In most cases, the origin of a kilim can be clearly determined based on the weave and the motifs. The designs and motifs passed down through generations are the decisive factor in the provenance of a piece.

For kilims, an anti-slip mat is an indispensable and urgently needed addition. In particular, to avoid the risk of slipping and to guarantee unrestricted suitability for everyday use."
